29th December 2011
Spider is allowed home from veterinary hospital, all looks good and he is expected to make a full recovery and be back in work in a few weeks.
28th December 2011
Spider had his X rays yesterday and all is looking good and he wont be needing any further surgery which is great news. He will hopefully be home again any day. This is the best Christmas present we could have wished for!!
Friday 16th December 2011
Spider had a horrendous accident in his stable which resulted in several fractures to his jaw. At one point it was considered that it may be best to put him down due to the severity of his injuries. Thankfully the vets did an amazing job of re aligning his jaw with plates and wires and after just a couple of days Spider was feeling more comfortable and happier, he even managed to eat some sloppy feed and could drink water.
Over the next few days Spider progressed to eating hay and was getting back his normal cheeky self, thoroughly enjoying all the extra fuss from Leanne on her daily visits to the Hospital.
Thanks to the fantastic veterinary treatment and Leanne's dedicated care, Spider seems to be well on the road to recovery. More X rays will be carried out but so far things are looking good.
This has been a tremendously worrying and emotional time for us all and we have been overwhelmed by the huge numbers of messages and kind words of support from so many of you. Many many thanks from us all here, it has been such a help. It seems Spider has quite a fan club... we always knew he was special and he certainly knows he is.
We now look forward to him being released from the Vet Hospital and with Leanne's care I am sure he will recover very quickly and be back in work in no time.
